PROFESSIONAL INFRARED THERMOGRAPHIC INSPECTIONS

A thermographic inspection is either an interior or exterior survey. Thermography uses specially designed infrared video or still cameras to make images (called thermograms) that show surface heat variations. This technology has a number of applications (see below). The US Department of Energy (DOE) recommends having an infrared thermographic inspection done prior to the purchase of home/building. VES offers infrared thermographic inspections along with other state of the art diagnostic equipment as needed.


Infrared thermal inspections are used for the following building diagnostic applications:

• Roofing Surveys: to detect wet insulation in flat-roof systems quickly and efficiently. Find damaged portions of the roofing structure and repair or replace before the entire roof is contaminated.

• Energy Audits: to perform infrared energy audits for residential and commercial applications. Increase the thermal efficiency of a home or building by scanning for thermal heat loss and cool infiltration or exfiltration, moisture invasion, concrete integrity and heat ventilation problems.

• Electrical System Surveys: to detect abnormally hot electrical connections or components.

• Mechanical System Surveys: to detect the heat created by excessive friction in appliances and other equipment.

• Moisture/Restoration: to accurately detect moisture issues located behind exterior and interior walls, in ceilings or under carpet-covered floors.

• Mold Remediation: to control mold by finding unknown sources of moisture that would otherwise go undetected. Infrared scanning is the fastest most efficient way to provide 100% moisture detection coverage.
